Nara
City is one of the most historically-famous cities in Japan.
It was the first capital of Japan about 1300 years ago. Though
it is located next to Osaka Prefecture (the second largest city
in Japan) the atmosphere of Nara is quite peaceful. With both
historical architecture and traditional Japanese style houses,
many important designated cultural assets and national treasures
can be found there. In Nara Park, distinctive temples and shrines
are preserved, including Koufuku-ji Temple, and Kasuga Grand
Shrine as well as Todaiji-Temple which houses the world's largest
bronze statue. Nara park is also famous for the deer that roam
freely. |
